- It prefers dry, more continental areas and tends to avoid oceanic coasts.
About the species
Identification
Perennial herb 20–80 cm tall, upright and usually well branched. Lower stem and leaf stalks often a little hairy. Basal leaves on long stalks, split into 3–5 deep, very narrow segments; few stem leaves, also narrow. Flowers shiny golden to pale yellow, each on the end of a branch; the upper part of the flower stalk is finely grooved and the small green parts beneath the petals stick outwards. The flower base is hairy. Later a round head of many small hard seeds, each with a tiny slightly curved tip. Differs from Meadow Buttercup by its much narrower, deeper-cut leaves.
